Corporate video in the UAE: what enterprise and government clients actually need

"Corporate video" gets used as a catch-all in the UAE, and it covers work that has almost nothing in common. A ministry's annual report film, a developer's investor update, a utility company's safety campaign, an internal culture piece for a five-hundred-person team — all "corporate video," all needing a completely different approach.

We've made all four. Here's what actually changes between them, and what to ask a production company for depending on which one you need.

The four kinds of corporate video we get asked for most

Institutional and government films. Slower pace, formal tone, heavier sign-off chain. These need a production partner comfortable working through multiple approval layers without losing the shoot day to it — and comfortable with the access and security requirements that come with public-sector work. We've made these for Dubai Healthcare City and the Dubai Media Office; the brief changes less than the process does.

Industrial and infrastructure films. Engineering sites, warehouses, flagship builds, infrastructure summits — these are technical stories. The film has to make an audience that isn't technical understand scale and precision without an engineer's vocabulary. The crew needs to be as comfortable on a construction site or an active infrastructure project as on a soundstage. We've made these for Innovo, across sites and summits throughout the UAE.

Investor and developer films. ORA Developers, Orascom Development — real estate and development in the UAE and Egypt moves fast, and the film often has to sell a project that isn't fully built yet. That's a different craft: light, pacing and CGI-adjacent visualisation carrying weight that a finished building would otherwise carry itself.

Culture and internal comms films. The quietest category and the easiest to get wrong. No product to shoot, no building to walk through — just people talking about why they do the work. These live or die on whether the interview subjects trust the crew in the room, which usually means a smaller footprint and more time spent before cameras roll, not less.

What to ask a production company before you brief them

Have they made a film in this specific category, not just "corporate video" broadly? Who handles sign-off on their end if your organisation needs three rounds of approval? Do they have experience with your sector's access or security requirements? Is the same team doing concept through delivery, or does it change hands after the shoot?

Where we've done this

Dubai Healthcare City and Dubai Media Office campaigns, Innovo's infrastructure and engineering work across the UAE, ADNOC Schools, ORA Developers, Orascom Development. Different sectors, different sign-off chains, one team end to end.
